RAMPONE Minutolo Valle d'Itria IGP 2023

Rampone is a varietal wine made from Minutolo grape. Straw yellow colour enriched with vivid greenish reflections. Intense scents, endowed with a distinct aroma, with strong floral fragrances of hawthorn, jasmine and wisteria, citron lime and green apple, and softer fruity notes such as yellow peach, mango, pineapple and exotic fruits in general. Crisp, mineral, savoury, balanced, with good acidity and with good ageing potential. Able to give exceptional performance with aging.

Rampone wine makes a great pairing with fish, shellfish and seafood dishes.

This variety was quite close to disappear until our family encouraged the research for the rediscovery and the promotion of this native grape. Generically called Fiano in the past, it actually belongs to the Muscat family. Our family was a pioneer in recovering the grape and giving a real name to this precious and ancient vine. We called it Minutolo because of the small size of the berries that make up the bunch.
